LET THERE BE LIGHT

In Truth you are a child of light. You are filled with a radiance that cannot be dimmed by lack of health, by sorrow, misfortune, or want. Regardless of what circumstances may proclaim, you have within you the clear, unfailing, redeeming light of Truth. Jesus asserts to you, as He did to His followers long ago: "You are the light of the world."

Declare for yourself: "I am the light of the world." Then be very still in mind and body until you feel intensely the light of Spirit around you and in you, moving through you, until you are wholly immersed in light, uplifted and renewed in your whole being-Spirit, soul, and body.

In all His ministry to others, Jesus kept His attention away from the external, centering it upon the light, life, and Truth within Himself and within those who came to Him for help. In the Christ self of Jesus, God manifested Himself perfectly as light, life, love, and power. The same Spirit of God that empowered Jesus to heal, help, and bless others resides in you and in every person.

The Christ light that lights every man coming into the world is now and has ever been in man. "There is a creative force constantly at work in man and all creation," affirms Charles Fillmore. "It is Spirit-mind shining consciously in the minds and hearts of those who recognize it....Jesus recognized this truth that the Christ, the divine-idea man... was His true self and that He was consequently the Son of God."

The Christ within every man is always declaring: "I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." To "have the light of life" means to have all the good that is implicit in God-good health, a serene heart, peace of mind, a joyous spirit, infinite love, and abundant supply. It means we possess more than that which is needful for our own spiritual and physical welfare; therefore we are better able to help others.

Every time you see someone in need of light, healing, or prosperity, say to his Christ consciousness: "Let there be light." See him as responding to your thought of love, as awakening to a new awareness of His Christ light. Acting as a center of faith, light, and power, you may bless anyone with any word of good-health, peace, wisdom, substance and call forth the light-giving Spirit that creates good.

Every person is receptive to the Christ light within, the light of Truth that points the way to health, happiness, and prosperity. Every enlightened person whose light shines out to the world, radiating its glow and dissipating the darkness, enhances and strengthens God's purpose. "In thy light do we see light."
